Meet Dr. Kim Kitchen

Meet Dr. Kim Kitchen of Old Town Smiles! She’s been a top supporter of RunningBrooke from the beginning and is a wonderful and compassionate human being. She and her staff regularly got their hands dirty to help till, dig and plant pollinator gardens near the playgrounds RB was involved in getting built along with Dr. Kim’s support! More recently, they’ve supported  our Move2Learn Movement Challenges, getting thousands of kids up out of their seats and moving throughout the day. Brain boosts to the max!!

What was it that first attracted you to be a sponsor of RunningBrooke’s mission?

Brooke’s devotion and passion are contagious. Helping the kids in the neighborhood where I live and work makes me feel like I’m giving back to the community. The community has been so supportive for the last 30 years, that’s the least that I can do.

Getting to know all of our wonderful patients and their family. Taking care of their teeth and keeping them overall healthy.

What is your proudest achievement?

When you’re not busy with your practice and volunteering, what are some of your favorite pastimes?

I love all water sports, walking a few miles every day, golfing and playing pickleball. Daily exercise of any kind keeps me happy.

Who is your hero and why?

Dr. Sylvia Earle is one of my hero’s. She has devoted a lifetime to promoting the health of our Blue Planet, the ocean.

A dental hygienist.

What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?

Live each day like it is your last.

What makes you laugh the most?

My sweetheart. Also my parents who are in their mid 80’s. They’re hysterical!

And finally, are you binge-watching anything during the pandemic?

Anything that has to do with nature and the ocean.
